These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of lateralcompass.com (the "Site") and the recruiting and staffing services provided by Lateral Compass, the talent practice of Patexia Inc. ("Lateral Compass," "we," "us," or "our") (together, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
About our Services
Lateral Compass provides legal talent recruiting and staffing. We place attorneys across all practice areas — with particular focus on intellectual property and patent law — as well as paralegals and legal support staff, on a permanent, contract, interim, or project basis. The Site provides information about our Services and ways to contact us.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Services.
Submissions and accuracy
If you submit information to us — for example, a resume, a search brief, or contact details — you represent that it is accurate and that you have the right to provide it. You grant us the right to use and share that information as needed to provide the Services and as described in our Privacy Policy. Do not submit information that is confidential to a third party unless you are permitted to share it.
No guarantee of placement or employment
Lateral Compass facilitates introductions between candidates and clients. We do not guarantee any placement, interview, hire, engagement, or employment outcome, and we do not control the hiring decisions of our clients or the conduct of candidates. Nothing in the Services creates an employment or agency relationship between you and Lateral Compass unless agreed in a separate written agreement.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
- Submit false, misleading, or infringing information;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or interfere with its operation;
- Scrape, copy, or harvest content or data except as expressly permitted;
- Use the Services to send spam or unsolicited communications.
Intellectual property
The Site and its content — including text, graphics, logos, and design — are owned by Lateral Compass or Patexia Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws.
